As Creative Director and co-owner of Dancers Edge, Cathy-Lee Hambright Ward uses her 25+ years of dance experience to teach her students a true love of all things dance.

Cathy-Lee was a Carolina Panthers TopCat for five years, where she was the winner of the 2003 Captain’s Choice Award and was a team captain for 3 years. Cathy-Lee was the Topcats choreographer intern in 2006 and got to perform in the Superbowl in 2004.

She has choreographed routines and worked professionally with many organizations, including the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Shout, Marilyn’s Modeling Agency, Coca-Cola, Directions Modeling Agency, and Kids Act Talent. Cathy-Lee also was the choreographer of the Winston-Salem Dash mini dugout dancers, headed up the dance ministry at her church, and has choreographed for many local high school dance teams, with some going on to win first place at the National High School Dance Competition level.

Cathy-Lee has extensive training in all styles of dance and studied under some of the most sought out instructors and choreographers in the nation. Cathy-Lee has also danced alongside MC Hammer; and has judged for competitions including NexStar, Applause, Rainbow, and Kid’s Artistic Review. Her choreography has won state, regional, and national recognition and awards.

She was named 2010 Community Dance Educator of the Year for the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Alliance for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NCAAHPERD). In addition to her dance background, Cathy-Lee also has extensive modeling and pageant experience.

Cathy-Lee was born and raised in the Triad, and believes in the true spirit of giving back to the community. She is involved in several charitable causes and has done events and promotions for Make A Wish Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the American Cancer Society.
