Benjamin Stewart began his dance training at Larkin Dance Studio under Michelle Larkin where he trained and competed while training in ballet at Ballet Arts Minnesota under Bonnie Mathis and Denise Vogt. He received and accepted full scholarships to summer intensives at Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Harid Conservatory, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet and is a proud alumni of The Harid Conservatory. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Juilliard School in New York where he received a full scholarship and earned his Masters of Arts in Education from The University of Phoenix.
Upon graduating from The Juilliard School Benjamin joined Atlanta Ballet for two seasons, Smuin Ballet for one season, and then joined San Francisco Ballet where he toured the world performing soloist and principal roles for nine years alongside his twin brother, Matthew.
After enjoying a rewarding career Benjamin returned home to Minnesota to join the faculty at Larkin Dance Studio where he also taught private lessons and summer intensives. He also joined Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota acting as a ballet master, company teacher, and company dancer. Benjamin’s strengths are ballet, leaps & turns, and technique. He is very excited to be part of the Dancers Edge faculty!
