Erica Garcia Peek began her dance training at an early age, developing a strong technical foundation and a deep love for the artform. She advanced her studies in both the Vaganova and Horton techniques under the mentorship of renowned instructors Carol Krajacic Erkes, Gloria Haigler, and Lloyd Whitmore.
She continued her artistic education at the Harrison School for the Arts in Lakeland, Florida, where she trained rigorously in ballet, modern, and contemporary dance. Erica was later accepted into the esteemed dance department at the University of South Florida. There, she broadened her artistry and technical skill under the guidance of influential faculty members John Parks, Jennifer Salk, and Lynne Wimmer.
Following her university training, Erica joined the professional company Florida Dance Theatre, performing repertory that strengthened her versatility and stage presence. She later expanded her professional career with Vital Spark, performing both domestically and internationally, and subsequently became a company member with Collective Soles Dance Company, contributing to new works and collaborative projects.
In addition to performing, Erica has dedicated herself to dance education. She served as the Director of the Dance Department at a performing arts school in Central Florida, where she developed curriculum, trained young dancers, and choreographed for stage productions. She also taught at Highland School of Dance, sharing her passion and technical expertise with the next generation.
Erica’s career reflects her commitment to artistic excellence, her versatility as both performer and educator, and her ongoing dedication to fostering the growth of young dancers.
