Sara Havener Miller

Sara (Havener) Miller is originally from North Carolina where she began dancing at the age of five. Sara trained and competed at Dancers Edge and went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2010. Sara began her professional career at the age of 18 with the Royal New Zealand Ballet and later spent three seasons as a company dancer with the Atlanta Ballet. Sara has performed corps de ballet, soloist and principal roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, George Balanchine’s Who Cares? and Serenade, Paquita, and Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Romeo et Juliette. With the Atlanta Ballet Sara also performed in several new works by choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Yuri Possokhov, and Helen Pickett. Most recently Sara danced as a company member with the United Ballet Theatre and had the opportunity to work with leading choreographers in the industry today including George Birkadze, Jimmy Cunnigham, Xenia Wiest, and Yuri Yanowsky. Sara has taught for several ballet schools including the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Education Program, the Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education, United Ballet Theatre’s Trainee Program, and the Orlando Ballet School.

Sara has also been a judge for both Rising Star Talent Productions and On Point National Dance Competition. In 2019 Sara received her personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is currently the co-owner of Proteus Fitness, a company specializing in cross training and injury prevention for dancers. Sara is so excited and honored to be back at Dancers Edge, teaching for both DE and EPA because some of her happiest memories were dancing with her DE Team!
