Drew started dancing at the age of nine. He focused on ballet, tap, and modern, and he danced competitively for several years, winning many renowned awards.
Drew was in the Ballet Preparatory Program at North Carolina School of the Arts for three years and then enrolled full time at the school for five years – from the eighth grade until he graduated in 2006.
During his studies at NCSA, Drew danced in many ballets including “Sleeping Beauty,” “Stars & Stripes,” “Paquita,” and “Don Quixote” – just to name a few. He performed many roles such as Snow King, Arabian, Lead Russian, and Toy Soldier in more than 100 performances of The Nutcracker over his eight years at NCSA.
He spent two summers with the Boston Ballet and performed professionally with the Schrader Youth Ballet, The Charleston Ballet, and most recently with Ballet Austin in Texas. He has modeled for Curtain Call Costumes and was featured in Pointe Magazine.
Drew returned to Winston-Salem to teach at both Dancers Edge locations and brings a renewed, fresh approach to ballet, contemporary, leaps and turns, and more!
