Cathy-Lee Hambright
As owner of Dancers Edge, Cathy-Lee uses her more than eighteen years of dance experience to teach her students a true love of all things dance. She was a TopCat cheerleader for the Carolina Panthers for five years, where she was chosen as winner of the 2003 Captains Choice Award and was a team Captain for three years (the 2004, 2005 and 2006). She has choreographed routines for numerous professional performance organizations, including the Carolina Panthers, and her extensive dance background includes high school All County Dance Team for four years, ballet training at Wake Forest University and four years of overseeing and instructing the Praise & Worship dance arts program at her church. She has trained under renowned dancers and choreographers such as Darrin Henson, Dena Rizzo, Geo Hubula, and Charissa Seamen and she has performed as a backup dancer for MC Hammer. Cathy-Lee has judged for numerous national dance competitions, including NexStar and Applause Talent, and has worked professionally with Charlotte Shout, Marilyn's Talent, Coca-Cola, and others. Her choreography has won state, regional, and national recognition and awards. In addition to her dance background, Cathy-Lee also has twelve years of modeling and pageant experience. Cathy-Lee believes in the true spirit of giving back to the community, and is involved in several charitable causes and organizations, including the Make A Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society.








David Mann
David Mann is the Competition Director for Dancers Edge in Kernersville and is the artist in residence at Fancy Feet Studios in Charlotte, NC. He is the founder and head choreographer of DMannTapp, and is the mastermind and creative powerhouse behind The Shootout dance convention and competition. David's performance credits include Victor in Smoky Joe's Café, NBC, Paramount, Hugo Boss, and various cruise lines. His students can be seen on Broadway, on national and international dance tours, on cruise ships, and on national television. Mann's innovative choreography and style have appeared on Good Morning America, America's Most Talented Kids, America's Got Talent, and in the national tours of On Tap, Road to Victory, and Dr. Doolittle starring Tommy Tune. He was recently named Dance Instructor of the Year by Dancer Magazine. David's unique style of tap is recognized and sought after throughout the country. Whether it is in his weekly technique classes at Dancers Edge, or his cutting edge choreography, Dancers Edge is privileged to have one of the best tap instructors and choreographers in the country on staff.










Justin Mann
Justin Mann is the primary lyrical and contemporary choreographer for Dancers Edge. His cutting edge choreography and unique style has won national attention and acclaim by some of today's top choreographers and dancers, and has made Justin one of the most sought-after choreographers in the industry. He has been recognized by every major dance media, including Dancer magazine and Dance Spirit magazine, and was recently named Dance Instructor of the Year by Dancer magazine. Justin has an extensive dance background. By the age of 18 he had received scholarships to almost every major dance center in the United States, including Steps on Broadway, Joffrey, The Edge, Chitaqua, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and Gus Giordanos Dance Studio in Chicago. In the first three years of his professional career he worked at Opryland, performed on cruise ships for Holland America and Celebrity Cruise Lines and appeared on numerous television performances. Justin is a major force in the dance world, and Dancers Edge is privileged to have him on staff as both an in-house instructor and choreographer.








Kentrell Newton
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Kentrell has been dancing and competing for many years. He is a member of the renowned Bloc Talent Agency of Atlanta, GA, and has performed his unique hip hop styles from here to China. Kentrell has been heavily involved with activities for the 102 JAMZ dancers, where he played a major role in the vision and establishment of their dance group in 2003. He has been involved with Couture Productions and appeared as a dancer for the Greensboro Super Jam concert on numerous occasions. Kentrell has coordinated numerous major dance events for North Carolina A&T State University, including homecoming and Aggie Fest. He has been invited to travel with numerous dance organizations and competitions, including Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, and has performed as a dancer for numerous R&B and rap artists. His unique approach to hip hop technique and foundations, as well as his exciting teaching style make him a studio favorite for students of all ages and levels!












Lindsey Bramham
Lindsey has been performing and dancing for many years. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a concentration in Jazz from East Carolina University in May of 2004, where she was the recipient of the Outstanding Senior in Dance Award. Lindsey has extensive training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Tap from renowned artists like Joseph Carow, Galina Panova, Betsy Herskind, Patricia Weeks, Amanda Oakley, Tommi Overcash Galaska, Joel Hall, Eddy Ocampo, Nick Pupillo, Clarine Powell, and many others. Her performance credits include Dance Chicago 2004 and 2005, Joel Hall Jazz Dance Company II Spring Concert, East Carolina University Dance Theater, the 2004 American College Dance Festival Gala, the Miss North Carolina Pageant, and the East Carolina University Professional Theaters production of "Smoky Joes Café". She is currently a member of a professional dance company in the Triad. Lindsey is not only talented with teaching the finer details of technique, but also brings her love of all dance styles into every classroom she enters at Dancers Edge!








Christine Spizzo
Christine began her lengthy, distinguished dance career under the guidance of Petrus van Muyden in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She later received a Ford Foundation scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet School where she began dedicated training with Harold and Ruby Christensen. She continued her training in high school, on scholarship at the North Carolina School of the Arts, and at the School of American Ballet in New York. Upon graduation she joined the National Ballet of Washington (DC) under the direction of Frederic Franklin and Ben Stevenson, then later joined Richard Englund and Gage Bush at the Ballet Repertory Company. In 1975 she joined the American Ballet Theatre, where she was noted for her "soubrette" roles in "Don Quixote", "Graduation Ball', "Sleeping Beauty", "Romeo & Juliet", and virtually every "pas de trois" in the ABT classical repertoire. Christine also performed with Mikhail Baryshnikov in "Apollo" and appeared in the ABT "Live from Lincoln Center" telecasts, and in several "Dance in America" programs between 1975 and 1988. She appeared in both Herbert Ross/ABT motion pictures "The Turning Point" and "Dancers". She was also in "Phantom of the Opera" for ten years on Broadway. Christine is widely recognized for her teaching, and has been quoted as an authority in ballet and pointe in publications. She is currently a full time ballet faculty teacher for the North Carolina School of the Arts.












Raymond Raymond Serrano
Born on the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico, Raymond has extensive ballet training and teaching experience. His formal training includes the Ballets de San Juan, the National Academy of Ballet in New York and the School of American Ballet. His professional experience was with the Ballets de San Juan and the National Ballet of Washington and he has toured with performing companies throughout the United States, South America, Japan, and Europe. With American Ballet Theatre, he developed an outstanding reputation for his character acting/dancing. He received critical acclaim for many of his performances, including "Herr Drosselmeier" in Baryshnikov's "The Nutcracker", "Hilarion" in "Giselle", "Tybalt" in "Romeo and Juliet", and "Espada" in "Don Quixote". Raymond appeared in all of American Ballet Theatre's "Live from Lincoln Center" broadcasts, in Baryshnikov's televised productions of "The Nutcracker" and "Don Quixote", and the Herbert Ross film "Turning Point" - to name a few. He is currently on the ballet faculty at the North Carolina School of the Arts.








Drew Davis
Drew Davis started dancing at the age of nine. He focused on ballet, tap and modern and danced competitively for several years winning many overall high awards. He was in the Ballet Preparatory Program at North Carolina School of the Arts for three years and then a full time at the school for five years from the eighth grade until he graduated in 2006. During his studies at NCSA, he danced in many ballets including Sleeping Beauty, Stars & Stripes, Paquita, and Don Quixote, to name a few. He performed many rolls such as Snow King, Arabian, Lead Russian, and Toy Soldier in more than 100 performances of The Nutcracker over his eight years at NCSA. Drew spent two summers with the Boston Ballet and performed professionally with the Schrader Youth Ballet, The Charleston Ballet, and most recently with Ballet Austin in Texas. He has modeled for Curtain Call Costumes and was featured in Pointe Magazine. He is returning to Winston-Salem to teach at both Dancers Edge locations and bring a renewed, fresh approach to ballet, contemporary, leaps and turns, and more!




















Evan Hung
Hailing from Philadelphia, Evan is a self-taught dancer that has been involved with the "physical expression" of dance since the age of 16. At the beginning of his career, he was heavily involved in the creation of numerous dance-related projects in his high school and surrounding area. He is currently immersed in the underground dance scene where he participates in a number of competitions, both domestically and internationally. Though primarily a B-Boy (breakdancer), he possesses an extensive knowledge of the history and technique of many different hip-hop/funk styles. He is currently a student at Wake Forest University where he is majoring in economics with minors in statistics and Chinese. In addition to dance, Evan co-hosts an alternative hip-hop radio show and DJ's a variety of proceedings ranging from school-sponsored events to private parties. Evan's upbeat personality and unique teaching style make him a favorite with all of our dancers!

Tammie Fish Shields
Tammie has over 30 years experience teaching tumbling and gymnastics. She previously owned and operated Dance & Tumble Creations in Kernersville, NC and is the proud mom to three girls. Tammie taught elementary school (grades K-2) for seven years. She has extensive experience in the dance, tumbling and pageant arenas, and she is the former Ms. Franklin County. Currently, Tammie is the Tumbling Director for Hunter's Dance in Wilson, NC and Kat McCord Studio in Rocky Mount, NC, and travels to Kernersville to teach tumbling for Dancers Edge.

Lori Lennon
Lori Lennon has been a dance and tumble instructor for seven years. Her educational background includes exercise and sports science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and she has been a group exercise instructor and fitness trainer for over 10 years. Her cheerleading experience spans over six years of high school and college cheerleading. Lori has a true love and passion for the art and athleticism of dance and loves sharing that passion with children! She believes the confidence and self-esteem that can be obtained by being involved in the sport of dance carries over into all aspects of life, and gives young people valuable life tools … and that anyone with passion can do anything! Dancers Edge is pleased to have Lori on staff, and we believe her enthusiastic approach to all things dance will translate into exciting and fun classes for all her dancers!

Dennis Caspary
Dennis' physical and high-energy teaching approach has made him a class favorite for many years. He has appeared on television, in film, and in theater, working with such entertainers as Jesse McCartney, Olivia Newton John, Paula Abdul, The Beach Boys, and on projects with the director of High School Musical, Kenny Ortega. Some of his television credits include Full House, Head of the Class, and Coach. His commercial credits include Coke, Pepsi, Levi's, Sears, McDonalds and many more. Dennis has been the guest choreographer for the Laker Girls, the Clipper Girls, and has won acclaim worldwide for his unique choreography. In June 2003, Dennis launched his own annual Jazz/Hip-Hop intensive 2 Days in OC, which has been an overwhelming success. Allen Cooper
Allen began dancing at age 9 under the direction of Christy Curtis. Throughout his training he has assisted such greats as Jason Parsons, Dee Caspary and Dennis Caspary, as well as the world renowned Mia Michaels when she set Celine Dion's Las Vegas spectacular A NEW DAY. He has appeared in national commercials and industrials since the age of 15. Allen is currently one of the most popular instructors and choreographers on the national Shock Intensive tour. Allen and his unique style of award winning choreography are in high demand at studios and venues across the country.










Juel Lane
Juel was born and raised in College Park, GA. He began his early training in front of his family and friends at a tender age of six years old. In 1993, he was apart of the Martin Luther King Center's Youth Dream Team under the direction of Carol Mitchell Leon and Yolanda King. There he was able to light his passion for dance and theatre even further. He attended Tri-Cities Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School under the direction of Freddie Hendricks and Dawn Axam, and Roscoe and Diane Sales. In 1998, Juel was named Magnet Student of the Year. He also toured with the Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, productions include, 'Soweto, Soweto A Township is Calling', 'School House Rocks', 'Psalm 13', and 'TIMES'. Upon graduation, he pursued a contemporary dance education at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC. There he had the opportunity to perform works by distinguished choreographers such as Steve Rooks, Twyla Tharp, Jose Limon, Andrea Woods, Jeff Slayton, Murray Louis, and Carlos Orta. Juel then moved to New York to work professionally, and while in New York, he has worked with Andrea Woods/Souloworks and Dancers, Caroyln Dorfman Dance Company, Ebony Ruffin, Camille A. Brown and Dancers, and Bridget L. Moore. He has taught at Tri-Cities Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, Dekalb School of the Arts, Total Dancial Productions, NYU Tish School of the Arts, North Carolina School of the Arts, Evidence Dance Series, DCNS Summer Camp, University of Buffalo, Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, and most recently The Perry Studios in Harlem, NY. He recently toured with Ronald K. Brown/Evidence Dance Company and is an active member of Dawn Axam Dance Experience in Atlanta, GA.












Jason Cabacungan
Jason was introduced to hip hop dance through an Orlando based hip hop dance company, Under A Groove, while attending the University of Central Florida. He trained for two years under the direction of Dayna Gonzaga before branching off and forming a few groups of his own. He is currently one half of the choreography team "Chicken and Rice" and artistic director of Ovation Dance Company. He has danced for artists such as: Tiffany Evans, Cherish, Interscope artist Alju Jackson and Slim of 112. Through his classes he hopes to spread his own unique style of hip hop to the Atlanta dance community and beyond.










Dena Rizzo
Dena Rizzo is a renowned Hip Hop dancer and choreographer. She has become one of America's supreme names in the dance world. Dena has worked with MTV and VH-1 and has produced four of her own instructional Hip Hop videos. Based out of New York, Dena travels the country educating students in the art of Hip Hop and Breakdancing. She is on the faculty at Showstoppers, Dance Makers, and has worked with Darrin Henson's Dance Groove Tour. She was a featured dancer in the move "Black Knight" with Martin Lawrence, and has worked with industry giants such as Wade Robeson, Dave Scott, Brian Friedman, Geo Hubela, Paula Abdul and many other choreographers. Her work can be seen in music videos, commercials, theatre productions and was even featured in Dance Spirit magazine. Dena's goal is to educate students in the true art form and culture that surrounds Hip Hop. Her high energy classes and workshops fuse the technique and style that is truly her own!










Trent Dickens
Trent Dickens is blazing his own path in the hip hop industry. A noted choreographer on the West Coast scene, Dickens is a regular instructor and choreographer for the Millennium Center Dance Complex and Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, both in Los Angeles, CA. Trent has worked with renowned artists like Omarion and Bobby Valentino, and most recently on a dance project with Tahj Mowry. His unique style is influenced by his strong ties on the West and East coasts with other Hip Hop newsmakers like Nick Bass, Misha Gabriel, Kenny Wormald, and Marty Kudelka.
